Owner feedback can help identify questions worth investigating, but an individual report does not establish a measured failure rate or a limitation shared by every machine. When specifications conflict, check the documentation for the exact model and contact the manufacturer or seller before buying.

Research is different from hands-on testing

We do not present reading specifications, comparing listings or reviewing owner feedback as personal use of a machine. A guide should only describe hands-on testing when there is documented testing to support it. Product photographs or illustrative feature images do not establish that we own or tested a machine.

How recommendations are assessed

A recommendation should explain the buyer and project it suits, the features that matter, and the reasons to choose something else. Relevant considerations include feed system, stitch type, working space, speed control, setup, service access and realistic material limits. More stitches, a higher model number or a heavy-duty label does not automatically mean a better machine.
